GODFLESH (UK) LIVE IN ATHENS

Godflesh (UK) live in Athens – 2 May 2026 | Arch Club

Godflessh are coming back to Athens to prove why for decades they remain a milestone on the industrial metal scene. On Saturday, May 2, 2026, they will turn the Arch Club into an industrial noise construction site.

Since 1988, when Justin Broadrick (ex-Head of David, Napalm Death) and G. Christian Green (Fall of For) joined forces with a drum machine, Godflesh have built a sound described only in words such as “unique,” “noisy,” “heavy.” From the legendary “Streetcleaner,” which opened new avenues for harsh sound, to subsequent classic EPs such as “Slavestate,” the Godflesh name has become synonymous with raw, unrelenting industrial energy. They brought the industrial metal to mainstream radar, taking elements from free jazz, dub, noise and post-punk. Their sound was an influence for bands such as Ministry and Nine Inch Nails, while they remain one of the most cult, but also revered, shapes in the extreme sound.

Godflessh aren’t just a band — it’s the focus of an ever-evolving sound universe that defies labels. Justin Broadrick was started by the legendary Scum of Napalm Death, shaping the extreme sound of the grindcore, before carving out his own path with Godflesh and a combination of industrial noise and metallic wildness.

With his projects such as Jesu, Broadrick redefines the post-metal and shoegaze in more atmospheric and emotional dimensions. At Techno Animal, along with Kevin Martin (The Bug), he explores the intersection of industrial, hip-hop and dub, while his ambient/noise alter ego, Final, shows his most minimalist side.

The influence of Broadrick and the sound of Godflessh goes as far as the offices like the Ministry, the Nine Inch Nails, the Sunn O)), even in off-metal artists, proving that noise, rhythm and weight can take infinite forms.

Every Godflesh look is a reminder that industrial sound is still alive, still anxious, still dangerous.

With collaborations and joint tours next to names such as Fall of Because, Loop, Scorn Godflesh never stood still – they always explore, experiment, weigh down. In Athens they come armed with the “classic” sound that changed the map, but also with the same unyielding attitude that keeps them alive and timely.
